5. Working Principle

The core arc extinguishing medium of VS1 outdoor circuit breaker is high vacuum inside the interrupter.

1. Closing state: Moving and static contacts inside vacuum tube are tightly connected, the high voltage circuit conducts normally to transmit load current.
2. Tripping state: When overload, short-circuit or line fault occurs, the protection signal triggers the spring mechanism to separate contacts instantly. The vacuum environment can rapidly extinguish electric arc without arc re-ignition, cutting off fault circuit reliably.
3. After breaking fault current, the vacuum interrupter keeps insulation performance, ready for next switching cycle.

The outdoor composite insulator isolates high voltage parts from ground, ensuring safe operation under outdoor rainy, dusty and high humidity conditions. Built-in CT can collect line current signals to match protection relays for automatic fault tripping.

6. Application Scope

VS1 outdoor vacuum circuit breaker is widely used in the following power occasions:

10kV overhead distribution lines

Pole-mounted transformer power supply points

Outdoor compact distribution substation

Photovoltaic and wind power outdoor collection lines

Municipal power grid reconstruction projects

Industrial park outdoor power distribution station

Rural power transmission network

Commercial district outdoor feeder cabinet matching equipment

7. Installation Instructions

1. Check the whole breaker before installation, confirm no damage, crack or deformation on composite insulator and metal shell; verify rated parameters match project design.
2. Fix the equipment firmly on reinforced power pole or metal support frame with special anti-rust fasteners.
3. Keep enough safety clearance between high voltage terminals and ground or other metal structures.
4. Connect overhead cable terminals tightly to avoid contact overheating during long-term operation.
5. Wire the control loop correctly according to wiring diagram, test remote electric closing and tripping function.
6. Conduct mechanical operation test repeatedly to ensure smooth energy storage, closing and tripping without jamming.
7. Complete insulation withstand test and protection linkage test before power transmission.
8. Regularly check insulator surface dirt, mechanism lubrication and terminal tightness during operation.

8. Safety Warnings

1. All installation, commissioning and maintenance work must be completed by certified professional electrical technicians.
2. Cut off all upstream power supply, carry out power failure, test and grounding operation before inspecting the breaker.
3. Do not touch high voltage terminals and insulator surface when the equipment is energized.
4. Strictly prohibit disassembling vacuum interrupter without professional equipment; damaged vacuum tube cannot be reused.
5. Stop operation immediately if insulator flashover, abnormal noise or shell overheating appears, cut off power for full inspection.
6. Avoid violent impact on composite insulator during transportation and installation to prevent hidden cracks.
7. Keep product nameplate and technical drawing for later maintenance reference.
